If you want to launch a new product on the internet, the first thing to so is to ensure that your website is up to date on information about the product. This can be done in many ways. You could make it in the form of a news entry, a new sales page or add a whole new section about the product. This will also help in providing more information to the potential buyers. Imagine if you don’t update your website before you launch the product; you will never be able to make a sale. If you want my suggestion I would advice you to add a news item as well as some new pages to the site.

People are not going to notice your product unless they know something about it. Who best to pas on this information. A journalist, of course. Getting a news release to a journalist should be of prime importance. Issue a press release online. This will draw attention to your product launch. If you do it correctly your press release can be found at the top news sites like Google News, Yahoo News etc. It can even be found at major portals like Yahoo, AltaVista etc. This is very important to your product launch and online marketing.

Key #3: Listing the products on Froogle
If you want your product to be known to thousands of people then one of the best ways to go about would be to submit the items to Froogle. Froogle is Google’s free shopping search engine. Link all the products that are listed on Froogle directly to your website. The good thing about internet marketing is that there are so many sources and ways to market your product without investing much money. And Froogle is one of the best sources for that. So, there is no reason why you should not use it. If you want to be ahead in this business then you have to play by the rules of the internet. And the most important, unwritten rule is that you have to be on the top listings of search engines. So, make sure you list the products on your search engine.

Key #4: Starting an affiliate program
An affiliate program is an advertising program that makes sure that the traffic is diverted to your website or the business is directed to you. Again setting up an affiliate program is not an expensive option. You can share part of your profits with the affiliates by making them sell your products. More the number of affiliates more the exposure to your product. More the exposure to your product more the number of sales.

Key #5: Placing ads
Many of you might feel that advertising is an overrated concept. It is not. If it was companies wouldn’t have advertising budgets that ran into millions of dollars. But, don’t worry you needn’t have that kind of money. There are much cheaper ways to advertise your products. It can setting up an automated Google sitemap, signing up for Google Adwords or you could post articles on an article distribution website.
